Arches National Park!

Arches National Park

What Is Arches National Park?

Arches National Park is the largest concentration of wind-carved, free-standing arches in the world, with over 2,000! It looks like a fantasy painting on approach, but I assure you, it is very real!

What Makes It Beautiful?

I love southern Utah’s redrock, and it is extraordinary to see it carved into such exquisite shapes. Delicate Arch really is a must-see on a visit to Utah; it looks like it should have toppled over centuries ago, yet it still stands and probably will long after we’re gone. Arches is a great place to experience eternity, whether in gazing at its namesake rock formations or experiencing pure silence, the kind of which you only find in the desert.

How Do I Get There?

When Should I Visit the Park?

Arches can be fun at any time of year, but prepare for high desert extremes. It gets really hot in the summer and really cold in the winter. If you dress for it, though, shoot for the transition times, mid-fall to late winter. The crowds will be smaller, and you may get to experience snow on the redrock!
