Clear Creek!

Clear Creek
Is there a plaque?  YES! 🙂

What is it? A plaque at the entrance of the Win-River Casino!
What makes it historical? The guide says: Five miles up the creek, at Reading’s Bar, is the site of the discovery of gold by Major Pierson B. Reading and his Indian laborers in 1848.

Other tidbits: That pretty well sums it up!

HOW CAN I HELP KEEP IT HISTORICAL? IT’S EASY!

  • You can volunteer with the Shasta Historical Society!
  • You can donate to the Shasta Historical Society!
  • You can be a responsible visitor! That means respecting the signs and pathways and treating all structures and artifacts with respect! After all, they’ve endured a lot already to make it into the present! They’ll need our help to make it to the future!
How do I find it? Listed Directions:
Old Hwy 99 and Canyon Rd
S Redding, CA 90061

Annotations:
The plaque is at the intersection of Redding Rancheria Road and Canyon Road! The site is directly across Market Street!
