Kemmerer Founders Monument!

Kemmerer Founder's Monument
Landmark #LN0007.92 Lincoln County Visited: Sept. 6, 2014 Plaque?  YES! 🙂
What is it? A stone monument memorializing the founders of Kemmerer, Wyoming!
What makes it historical? THE PLAQUE SAYS: Kemmerer founded 1897 by Mahlon S. Kemmerer (1843-1925) and Patrick J. Quealy (1857-1930).

OTHER TIDBITS: Well that marker didn’t say much! Mahlon Kemmerer was the town’s namesake, but he didn’t directly found it. In fact, he spent most of his time in Pennsylvania, where he was the President of the very successful Kemmerer Coal Company! It was his vice president, Patrick Quealy, who founded this town near coal deposits discovered by John C. Frémont!
