What is it? The depot is now full of restaurants and shops!
What makes it historical? THE GUIDE SAYS: This is the site of the terminal of stages of the 1850s and of the Sacramento Valley Railroad in 1855.

OTHER TIDBITS: From this spot, stages left Sacramento for the gold fields in the foothills of the Sierras! Later, the Sacramento Valley Railroad carried mail and passengers between this station and Folsom as part of the Central Overland Pony Express Route!
