Popeye is a one-eyed harbor seal who has been named Official Seal of the Port of Friday Harbor! |
| What makes it wonderful? |
Popeye has frequented this marina since 1995 when she discovered that the seafood market throws out lots of fish scraps! Since then, she’s become the main attraction of Friday Harbor, swimming right up to folks and taking photos with them! Just because she’s such a public figure, though, doesn’t mean Popeye isn’t full of mystery, though! For instance, she’s raised a couple of pups, but no one knows where she keeps them when she’s not showing them off! Also, she seems to jump back and forth between Friday Harbor and Victoria pretty regularly, a distance of 27 miles! |
