Spanish Ranch and Meadow Valley!

Spanish Ranch and Meadow Valley
Landmark #481 Plumas County Visited: July 10, 2016 Plaque?  YES! 🙂
What is it? A wooden sign in a field!
What makes it historical? THE GUIDE SAYS: Miners going to the East Branch, Middle Fork, or North Fork of the Feather River separated at Spanish Rancho, established in July 1850 by two Spaniards, and at Meadow Valley, 2.5 miles from Spanish Ranch.

OTHER TIDBITS: The two Spanish men, whose names have been lost to history, set up their camp as a beef distribution center for the surrounding miners in this prosperous region! Not far away, in Meadow Valley, residents put together the first cultural hall and public school in the region to keep their minds sharp as they mined!
