Deoksugung Palace!

Deoksugung
What is it? Deoksugung (덕수궁) was the fifth of the Five Grand Palaces of the Joseon Dynasty!
What makes it historical? Originally the home of Wolsandaegun, the older brother of King Seongjong, Deoksugung was elevated to the level of palace by Gwanghaegun, who moved here after the Japanese invasion of 1592! The complex is a blend of Korean and foreign architecture, and stands right in the heart of the modern city of Seoul!
How can I Help the Helpers? HERE’S HOW:

  • Pay the entrance fee to help maintain trails, signs, structures, and other visitor services!
  • Be a responsible visitor! Please respect the signs and pathways, and treat all structures and artifacts with respect. They’ve endured a lot to survive into the present. They’ll need our help to make it into the future!
