Wyoming State Capitol!

Wyoming State Capitol
What is it? It’s the Wyoming State Capitol Building!
What makes it historical? Cheyenne became the territorial capital of Wyoming in 1869, thanks to its spot on the Transcontinental Railroad! Seventeen years later, construction on this capitol building commenced, designed by David W. Gibbs & Company and built by Adam Feick & Brothers! Built in the Renaissance revival style, the capitol building is mostly made of sandstone from Rawlins, Wyoming and Fort Collins, Colorado.

The dome was originally covered in copper but because copper turns green so easily, it was replaced with gold leafing in 1900 and has since been refreshed five times! The first stage of the building was completed on May 18, 1887 as the cupcake version of the capitol, and it was expanded into a sheet cake by 1917! (That means they added wings!)
