The Irma Hotel!

Irma Hotel
What is it? The Irma Hotel is still open for business!
What makes it historical? After the opening of Yellowstone National Park to tourists, “Buffalo Bill” Cody was quick to capitalize on public interest! With the Burlington Railroad set to complete a spur line into Cody, Buffalo Bill stepped up to lay out the welcome mat, starting with the Irma Hotel (named for his youngest daughter) in 1902! Travelers could then stay at his Wapiti Inn and Pahaska Tepee as they got closer to the park!

After charming Queen Victoria at her Golden Jubilee in 1887, Buffalo Bill became the recipient of a magnificent cherrywood bar for his hotel, a gift of the queen! Today, it is still serving, and still super famous!
