What is it? |
The gardens at the Huntington Library are some of the most spectacular in southern California! Spanning 120 acres and featuring thousands of plants, both familiar and exotic, these gardens house enough fascinating species to keep a garden lover captivated for hours! |
What makes it beautiful? |
Lovely as the landscaping is, the highlights are in the flowers. In February, the cherry blossoms in the Japanese garden come into bloom, as do the magnolias, and even the cacti! Speaking of cacti, the Huntington’s desert garden is mind-blowing! Who knew there were so many cacti the size of a saguaro but located on a completely different continent?! I love the landscaping and the thematic gardens (Chinese, Japanese, Australian, and even Shakespeare, which intermingles lines of verse among the camelias)! |
How can I Help the Helpers? |
HERE’S HOW:
- Pay the entrance fee and contribute toward pathway and plant maintenance, sign design, and other visitor services!
- Volunteer at the Huntington Library!
- Donate to the Huntington Library!
- Be a responsible visitor! Remember the old adages: Pack out what you pack in! Take nothing but pictures and leave nothing but footprints!
