What is it? The reconstructed adobe home of John C. Stewart!
What makes it historical? THE GUIDE SAYS: Adobe house constructed by José Manuel Machado in 1830s for his daughter Rosa, wife of John C. Stewart. Stewart was a shipmate of Richard Henry Dana, Jr. who describes his 1859 visit to this house in Two Years Before the Mast.
