What is it? The National Hotel is still open for business!
What makes it historical? THE GUIDE SAYS: The National Exchange Hotel opened for business on August 20, 1856, the exterior is virtually unchanged since its construction as three brick buildings in 1856. The National is one of the oldest continuously operating hotels west of the Rockies.

OTHER TIDBITS: Be careful which room you stay in! Room 48 is supposedly haunted by a woman who was murdered here in the 1800s, while others say the spirit of a little girl named Elizabeth spends time in Room 78 when she isn’t skipping rope in the halls!

This landmark is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places!
