What is it? |
The Piute County Courthouse is a lovely, red brick courthouse-turned-inn constructed circa 1903! |
What makes it historical? |
The Courthouse is an outstanding example of 20th century rural architecture, built by the architectural firms of R.C. Watkins and Young, Alan & Morrill. It really stands out when compared to the humble homes that surround it for miles! Here, the region’s most high-profile cases were tried, but often beset by the building’s lack of structural integrity, an issue that plagued the Courthouse and its residents until 1997 when the judicial branch of Piute County moved to a more modern building, and the Old Courthouse was privatized and restored! |
How can I Help the Helpers? |
HERE’S HOW:
- Stay at the inn by visiting Utah Family Reunion!
- Become a member of the Utah Historical Society!
- Be a responsible visitor! Please respect the signs and pathways, and treat all structures and artifacts with respect. They’ve endured a lot to survive into the present. They’ll need our help to make it into the future!
