Don Fernando Pacheco Adobe
Landmark #455 Contra Costa County Visited: February 15, 2014 Plaque?  NO. 🙁
What is it? A reconstruction of Don Fernando Pacheco’s adobe home!
What makes it historical? THE GUIDE SAYS: One-quarter mile north of this spot is the site of the adobe house constructed in 1843 by Don Fernando Pacheco. Reconstructed in 1941, it is preserved as a memento of the historic past of Contra Costa County.

OTHER TIDBITS: Don Fernando Pacheco, son of Don Salvio Pacheco, received 1,500 acres of land from his father at the age of 17! He built the adobe in 1850, and it served as a central gathering place for fiestas until 1918!

This landmark is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places!

  • Be a responsible visitor! Please respect the signs and pathways, and treat all structures and artifacts with respect. They’ve endured a lot to survive into the present. They’ll need our help to make it into the future!
