Don Salvio Pacheco Adobe!

Don Salvio Pacheco Adobe
Landmark #515 Contra Costa County Visited: February 15, 2014 Plaque?  YES! 🙂
What is it? A restored adobe building now used as a private business!
What makes it historical? THE GUIDE SAYS: In 1834, Don Salvio Pacheco was awarded a grant called Monte del Diablo and on June 24, 1835 completed this two-story adobe, the first building to be erected in this valley. Don Salvio gave the land surrounding this adobe to the refugees of the earthquake-flood of 1868, and the community became known as Concord.

OTHER TIDBITS: The Pacheco family were direct descendents of California’s earliest Spanish settlers! Salvio’s father and grandfather took part in the Anza expedition!

How can I Help the Helpers? HERE’S HOW:

  • Volunteer with the Concord Historical Society!

  • Be a responsible visitor! Please respect the signs and pathways, and treat all structures and artifacts with respect. They’ve endured a lot to survive into the present. They’ll need our help to make it into the future!
