What Is the Korean War Veterans Memorial?
The Korean War Veterans Memorial is a procession of bronze soldiers making their way through foreign lands, flanked by a wall of ghostly faces!
What Makes It Beautiful?
The Korean War is often called the “Forgotten War” because it is often overshadowed by World War II, which ended five years before it, and the Vietnam War, which started two years later! It was the first hot part of a long, Cold War! At least 43,808 American lives were lost, but their ghosts linger. That’s why I recommend visiting this memorial at night. When the sun sets, and the low lights come up beneath the statues, you’re transported from a nice work of art directly into the moonlit forests of Korea, marching alongside these uncertain ghosts toward the unknown!
