What is it? | The Stone Corral Ranch! |
What makes it historical? | THE GUIDE SAYS: Stone Corral, consisting of a hotel, barns, and the large corrals for which it was named, was one of the stopping places on the road from the mines to Stockton.
OTHER TIDBITS: The reason this stone corral was so important was that miners on the road to the mines didn’t just need a place to sleep for the night; they also needed a place for their horses and other animals to take a snooze too! So, the Stone Corral was the best option as an animal resort during the Gold Rush! |
