Landmark #705 El Dorado County Visited: July 12, 2015 Plaque?  YES! 🙂
What is it? A plaque on the side of Highway 50!
What makes it historical? THE GUIDE SAYS: This was the site of a change station of the Pioneer Stage Company in the 1850s and 1860s. During 1860-1861, the Central Overland Pony Express maintained the first pony remount station east of Sportsman’s Hall here.

OTHER TIDBITS: Moore’s station was named for John Moore, who managed the toll road here!
