What is it? Temelec Hall is still around, but it’s locked inside a private, gated community!
What makes it historical? THE GUIDE SAYS: This structure was erected in 1858 by Captain Granville P. Swift, a member of the Bear Flag Party, using stone quarried here by native Indian labor. General Percifor F. Smith, U.S. military commander in California, lived in the little house nearby in 1849.

OTHER TIDBITS: This landmark is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places!
