Deoksugung (덕수궁) was the fifth of the Five Grand Palaces of the Joseon Dynasty! |
What makes it historical? |
Originally the home of Wolsandaegun, the older brother of King Seongjong, Deoksugung was elevated to the level of palace by Gwanghaegun, who moved here after the Japanese invasion of 1592! The complex is a blend of Korean and foreign architecture, and stands right in the heart of the modern city of Seoul! |
