What is it? |
The Atlas Theatre is still open for business! |
What makes it historical? |
Built as a sweets shop in 1887, this three-story building entered its second decade as a theatre, thanks to architect, William Dubois! The Atlas Theatre put on shows for another 22 years, changing its name to the Strand in 1929. The building was abandoned for most of the 1950s and was briefly the Pink Pony nightclub in 1961. At last, in 1966, the Cheyenne Little Theatre Players started using the building as a theatre once again and purchased the historic Atlas in 1971! Today, it is still used for theatrical performances, and even houses two mysterious ghosts! |
How can I Help the Helpers? |
HERE’S HOW:
- Buy tickets for a show!
- Volunteer at the Atlas Theatre!
- Donate to the Atlas Theatre!
- Be a responsible visitor! Please respect the signs and pathways, and treat all structures and artifacts with respect. They’ve endured a lot to survive into the present. They’ll need our help to make it into the future!
