What is it? |
Kings Canyon National Park protects America’s deepest canyon and the wilderness of the high Sierras surrounding it! |
What makes it beautiful? |
When you go to the Sierras, you can expect to be wowed by giant sequoias, towering granite cliffs, and pristine blue rivers. Kings Canyon provides all of those from the bottom up! Hiking one of the many trails will take you up along the sides of this mile-deep canyon, through woodlands and past cascading streams, to remote pockets of flowering meadows and lakes, where the sounds of civilization are replaced by breezes and burbles! Up in the high Sierras, you can imagine you are standing at the boundary between Earth and moon! |
How can I Help the Helpers? |
HERE’S HOW:
- Pay the entrance fee to help maintain trails, signs, structures, and other visitor services!
- Volunteer with the Volunteer-In-Parks (VIP) program!
- Become a member of the Sequoia Parks Conservancy!
- Be a responsible visitor! Remember the old adages: Pack out what you pack in! Take nothing but pictures and leave nothing but footprints!
