What is it? |
Natural Bridges National Monument is Utah’s first, protecting three major stone bridges deep in a wash! |
What makes it beautiful? |
This park is an amazing place to touch eternity. The three bridges here represent three ages from young to middle aged to old, but all still ancient. By the time the young Kachina Bridge reaches the age of Owachomo, generations of long-lived sequoias will have come and gone! If you go down into the wash, you’ll feel, hear, and even see the winds of change blowing through these millennia-old gateways to the eons. Take a moment to appreciate their steady flow!
This is also the world’s first International Dark Sky Park, which preserves uninterrupted views of the cosmos! Stay here overnight during the new moon and witness the millions and bajillions of stars, the way they amazed and baffled our ancestors in the days before street lamps! |
