What is it? |
Aztec Ruins National Monument preserves a massive great house complex left behind by the Ancestral Puebloan people! |
What makes it beautiful? |
This is a small park surrounded by cottonwood groves that turn bright gold in the autumn months! A leisurely stroll will let you take in the contrasts of brick and ancient wood used to date these ruins. You’ll have the chance to enter old, dark hallways and see bits of pottery and original door curtains from another time, 800 years ago! Take some time to sit inside the elegantly restored Great Kiva and imagine a whole community of others engaged in dance and ritual around great, roaring fireplaces! This is a place to let your imagination run wild! |
