What is it? |
Guadalupe Mountains National Park preserves the four tallest peaks in Texas, which rose from an ancient Permian reef! |
What makes it beautiful? |
The clouds were really the highlight for me on this hike, because the peak rose so high above them that it was neat watching them boil over the sheer face of El Capitan! Beyond, the great Texas salt flats stretched out in all directions, giving a sure sense of being on top of the world! If you’re not a hiker, the mountains are breathtaking to behold from below, especially around sunset! |
How can I Help the Helpers? |
HERE’S HOW:
- Pay the entrance fee to help maintain trails, signs, structures, and other visitor services!
- Volunteer at Guadalupe Mountains National Park!
- Be a responsible visitor! Remember the old adages: Pack out what you pack in! Take nothing but pictures and leave nothing but footprints!
