What is it? |
Piscataway Park not only preserves the views of Mount Vernon from across the Potomac but also rare wetlands and breeds of livestock! |
What makes it beautiful? |
This park is uniquely set up to preserve American heritage, from a fully recreated colonial farm to an entire swath of riparian shoreline that keeps views of George Washington’s estate clear! Stroll the lush wetlands of the Potomac and keep an eye out for all kinds of neat birds! Discover super rare animal breeds like the Hog Island sheep and American Milking Devon cattle! It’s a fun place to wander for kids and adults alike! |

When should I go? |
Most of the park is open daily from sunrise to sunset! The National Colonial Farm is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM, March through December! Between December and March, it’s only open on weekends. I would recommend going in late spring or early fall, because cold, rainy winter weather made things super soggy! |
