What is it? |
The Thomas Stevenson house is a beautifully restored 19th century home in the Victorian Dover Historic District! |
What makes it historical? |
Thomas Stevenson was a local cabinetmaker whose wife, Sarah, taught in a two-room schoolhouse out back! The first three buildings out back were constructed in 1804, but this main house was built in 1846. This building is one of 482 in the greater Victorian Dover Historic District, which preserves those buildings that housed Dover’s 19th century population and industry! |
How can I Help the Helpers? |
HERE’S HOW:
- Volunteer with the Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs!
- Become a member of Preservation Delaware!
- Be a responsible visitor! Please respect the signs and pathways, and treat all structures and artifacts with respect. They’ve endured a lot to survive into the present. They’ll need our help to make it into the future!
