What is it? |
Walking Box Ranch is a historic ranch of the stars in the Mojave Desert! |
What makes it historical? |
In 1931, silent film stars, Clara Bow and Rex Bell, found their fortress of solitude in a Spanish Colonial style ranch near the California-Nevada border! They called it Walking Box Ranch after the shape of movie cameras on top of tripods. Here, on 400,000 acres, they raised cattle and entertained their fellow stars, like Errol Flynn, Clark Gable, and Carole Lombard! |
How can I Help the Helpers? |
HERE’S HOW:
- Volunteer with the Nature Conservancy!
- Become a member of the Nature Conservancy!
- Be a responsible visitor! Please respect the signs and pathways, and treat all structures and artifacts with respect. They’ve endured a lot to survive into the present. They’ll need our help to make it into the future!
