What is it? |
The armory is now the Deming Luna Mimbres Museum! |
What makes it historical? |
Designed by architect, Henry C. Trost, the Deming Armory was built in response to Pancho Villa’s raids along the Mexican border! Though it wasn’t completed until two months after the infamous raid on Columbus, it remained a training center for the National Guard until 1979! It was the first armory built in New Mexico after it became a state! |
How can I Help the Helpers? |
HERE’S HOW:
- Volunteer with the Luna County Historical Society!
- Donate to the Luna County Historical Society!
- Be a responsible visitor! Please respect the signs and pathways, and treat all structures and artifacts with respect. They’ve endured a lot to survive into the present. They’ll need our help to make it into the future!
