What is it? |
The old Pieve di San Bartolomeo is a small church high on the hills of the old Castle Collodi! |
What makes it historical? |
This tiny church celebrates the patron saint of the old town of Collodi, St. Bartholomew! While the saint is most famous for having been flayed alive, this 12th century church is most famous for its wooden carvings of the saint and the Madonna, as well as a magnificent organ crafted by Michelangelo Crudeli in 1762! Every year, in the last week of August, the village celebrates St. Bartholomew with a huge festival! |
