What is it? |
Ischigualasto Provincial Park is a lunar landscape of rock formations and Triassic-age fossils! |
What makes it beautiful? |
Even the name of this place, “Valley of the Moon,” is beautiful! Here, you’ll find landscapes of magical rock formations—mushrooms and hoodoos—with whimsical shapes and names like the Sphinx, the Submarine, and the Ball Court! Just like southern Utah, it is colored and textured by millions of years of deposits, which include one of the world’s best finds of Triassic fossils! Only accessible at certain times and with a certain number of cars, it’s never really a crowded park, which leaves you free to focus on the preserved wonders of ancient Argentina! |
How can I Help the Helpers? |
HERE’S HOW:
- Pay the entrance fee to help maintain trails, signs, structures, and other visitor services!
- Volunteer with World Heritage Volunteers!
- Donate to UNESCO!
- Be a responsible visitor! Please respect the signs and pathways, and treat all structures and artifacts with respect. They’ve endured a lot to survive into the present. They’ll need our help to make it into the future!
