What is it? |
The Montrose County Historical Museum! |
What makes it historical? |
The railroad arrived in the mining town of Montrose in 1882, making the budding city a major outfitting hub for mining camps within a 60-mile radius! This depot was built between 1908 and 1912, and though we recognize its Mission Revival architecture style, its actual architect was never recorded! Today, the depot no longer services trains but is a museum dedicated to rail history with part of the building dedicated to interstate bus service! |
How can I Help the Helpers? |
HERE’S HOW:
- Become a member of the Montrose County Historical Society!
- Be a responsible visitor! Please respect the signs and pathways, and treat all structures and artifacts with respect. They’ve endured a lot to survive into the present. They’ll need our help to make it into the future!
