What is it? |
Today, this is the Surewood Forest Candle Company! |
What makes it historical? |
This hall for the International Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.) was built in 1903 and is one of only four commercial structures on Beaver’s Main Street that are still fully intact! It was built by Charles C. Woodhouse and designed for multiple purposes. The I.O.O.F chapter met on the upper level, and the lower level was a drugstore! In Utah, the I.O.O.F. held a presence from about 1865 through the 1930s, and here in Beaver, they were an important social and charitable organization! |
How can I Help the Helpers? |
HERE’S HOW:
- Volunteer with the Utah Division of State History!
- Donate to the Utah Division of State History!
- Be a responsible visitor! Please respect the signs and pathways, and treat all structures and artifacts with respect. They’ve endured a lot to survive into the present. They’ll need our help to make it into the future!
