What Is Rocky Mountain National Park?
Rocky Mountain National Park preserves 415 square miles of wilderness in Colorado’s Rocky Mountain range!
What Makes It Beautiful?
Do you like high mountain views framed by pines? How about elk meadows, beaver ponds, and tundra-lined alpine lakes? Rocky Mountain National Park is filled to the brim with the best of many ecosystems from wetland to high tundra. If you can, take the Old Fall River Road to the Alpine Visitor Center, where you’ll get great vistas and maybe spot a marmot or two! There are waterfalls and lakes and glaciers to explore, so give Rocky Mountain National Park a visit the next time you’re in Colorado!

When Should I Visit the Park?
The park is open all year, and each season has its pros and cons! My visit in August meant that the sky was full of wildfire smoke, but the Old Fall River Road was open and accessible. There were lots of elk and moose to see, and the temperatures were really pleasant!
