What Is Dinosaur National Monument?
Dinosaur National Monument preserves both the canyons of the Green and Yampa Rivers, and one of the world’s most spectacular deposits of Jurassic fossils!
What Makes It Beautiful?
On the Colorado side, you’ll get to enjoy sweeping views of desert landscape and river-carved canyons! It’s also a river rafting destination, so you might want to check out the Gates of Lodore in the north part of the park! On the Utah side, you’ll be astounded by the well preserved fossils of over 500 dinosaurs and so many more smaller fossils! See some of the bones that shaped our dino culture, like camarosaurus and allosaurus, and enjoy the rich colors of the surrounding landscape!
