What Is Glacier National Park?
Glacier National Park preserves the high mountain ecosystems of the Montana Rockies and is part of the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park!
What Makes It Beautiful?
While Glacier National Park was founded with 100 mountain glaciers, it’s soon going to lose its namesake ice! So what’s left behind to enjoy? There are still high mountain lakes like Lake McDonald and St. Mary’s Lake, gorgeous turquoise waterways like Avalanche Creek, and of course, the rugged peaks surrounding the famous Going-to-the-Sun Road!
Glacier is a park anyone can enjoy, whether they’d just like to sit lakeside with a huckleberry ice cream cone or trek to North America’s hydrological apex, Triple Divide Peak, whose runoff flows into three different oceans! It’s a place of beginnings and endings, of danger and survival, a jewel of the Treasure State!
