What Is the Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden?
Since opening day back in 2002, this garden has practically been a bronze zoo, inspired by the stories of Dr. Ted Seuss, from the Cat in the Hat to Thidwick the Moose!
What Makes It Wonderful?
This is a garden of whimsical fun. You’ll pose with the Grinch or chase Things 2 and 1! The Lorax is here to speak for the trees, while Yertle sees all atop strained turtle knees! Go listen with Horton—you might hear a Who—or Sam could convince you to taste something new! Of the places you’ll go, inside might be best, to learn how this writer out-rhymed all the rest. The museum has got sketches and doodles galore, so when done with the garden, go in to explore! Perhaps you will learn, I’ll bet you’ll enjoy the world that sprung up ’round one Springfield-raised boy!
How Can I #HelpTheHelpers?
- Pay the entrance fee to help maintain trails, signs, structures, and other visitor services!
- Become a member of the Springfield Museums!
- Donate to the Springfield Museums!
- Be a responsible visitor! Please respect the signs and pathways, and treat all structures and artifacts with respect. They’ve endured a lot to survive into the present. They’ll need our help to make it into the future!
