Devil’s Lake State Park!

Devil's Lake State Park

What Is Devil’s Lake State Park?

This is Wisconsin’s largest state park and a scientific research center for folks studying the Ice Age!

What Makes It Beautiful?

Devil’s Lake is downright heavenly, crowned by unique formations of 1.6 billion year old quartzite shaped by the glaciers of the last Ice Age! With hiking trails to take in the views from all angles, it’s also a fine spot to picnic at any time of year. In winter, when not renting snowshoes, it’s still just plain lovely admiring the way the setting sun glows on the ice and the surrounding cliffs, plus the cool textures made by different degrees of melt!

How Can I #HelpTheHelpers?

  • Pay the entrance fee to help maintain trails, signs, structures, and other visitor services!
  • Volunteer at Devil’s Lake State Park!
  • Be a responsible visitor! Remember the old adages: Pack out what you pack in! Take nothing but pictures and leave nothing but footprints!
