Hot Springs National Park!

Hot Springs National Park

What Is Hot Springs National Park?

Hot Springs National Park protects historic bathhouses, hot springs, and the surrounding Ouachita Mountains whose cracks and faults make these springs possible!

What Makes It Historical?

This is an unusual national park! Its core is in the middle of a city and focused on human-made buildings, but there’s some fine Spanish-style architecture to be seen along Bathhouse Row, from the spectacularly tiled Fordyce Bathhouse to the grand-domed Quapaw Bathhouse! Each bathhouse is different inside, some more utilitarian and others more ornate, but if you get the chance to reserve a bath of your own, you’ll experience that beautiful feeling of melting into mineral water that spent 4,400 years heating below ground and rising up to the surface, just for your enjoyment! Out and about, you’ll find a few open springs, surrounded by blooming trees, and don’t forget that this park is surrounded by miles of hiking trails leading to lovely views of the Ouachita Mountains!
