Rich Bar!

Rich Bar
Landmark #337 Plumas County Visited: May 11, 2012 Plaque?  YES! 🙂
What is it? A plaque overlooking the Feather River gorge!
What makes it historical? THE GUIDE SAYS: Gold was first found here in July 1850 by miners coming over the mountains from the Yuba Diggins, and there was much production during early 1850s along this east branch of the Feather River’s north fork. Here “Dame Shirley” (Louise Amelia Knapp Smith Clappe) wrote her Letters from the California Mines, one of the classics of the Gold Rush.

OTHER TIDBITS: That pretty well sums it up!
