What is it? |
The Gentle Barn is a half-acre sanctuary for animals rescued from slaughterhouses, backyard butchers, and abusive owners, especially the kinds that other animal centers deem “too damaged for adoption!” |
What makes it wonderful? |
Not only does The Gentle Barn take in and heal these animals, but they also invite troubled and at-risk kids and teens to heal with the animals! They even bring in people convicted of animal abuse to learn how to love animals and themselves! There are three requirements of everyone when they come to the Gentle Barn: hug a cow, cuddle a turkey, and rub a pig’s belly! |
