What is it? |
Hovenweep National Monument protects six Ancestral Puebloan villages built on the verge of their disappearance from the area! |
What makes it beautiful? |
It’s the delicate balance of these ancient structures that makes them stand out! Tall towers and “castles” are still perched here on the edge of a steep canyon, having withstood over 700 years of natural forces! They have made incredible use of their surroundings, even building a fortress into a huge eroded boulder hanging in the middle of the canyon wall! Together, they stand as sentinels over a time that will never be again and will leave you astonished with wonder! |
