What Is Rock Creek Park?
Rock Creek Park is a 1,754-acre swath of nature right in the heart of Washington, DC!
What Makes It Beautiful?
This park blends outdoor recreation with natural beauty with history! Tucked into its shady forests lining the actual Rock Creek, you’ll find golf courses, tennis courts, and equestrian routes! There are over 32 miles of hiking and jogging trails, some of which lead past cool formations like Pulpit Rock and neat historic structures like Isaac Peirce’s grist mill, which processed grain all the way from 1829 until 1958! Rock Creek also houses the National Zoo, Carter Barron Amphitheatre, and even a planetarium! The beautiful thing about this park is not only its natural splendor but also the way it brings folks together for their favorite activities in the great outdoors!
