What Is Lake Clark National Park & Preserve?
This 40 million acre park preserves and protects the mountains and waterways surrounding Qizhjeh Vena, also known as Lake Clark!
What Makes It Beautiful?
I only got to see a sliver of this majestic park’s beauty, but imagine dense forest and towering mountains, reflected in pristine mountain lakes! It’s a place brimming with wildlife, from bears and wolves to caribou and moose to legions of birds! Here, the ecosystem feeding the richest sockeye salmon fishery in the world is protected so it looks the way it has for the Dena’ina since time immemorial! Maybe you’ll take a float plane to a remote lake or boat up and down the park’s namesake, but you’re just about guaranteed to be surrounded by breathtaking beauty and wild drama!
