What is it? | A stone monument marking the passage of the Oregon Trail and Pony Express through Fort Bridger! |
What makes it historical? | THE PLAQUE SAYS: Fort Bridger established 1858 as a military post, also Pony Express Station and on the Old Oregon Trail.
OTHER TIDBITS: Fort Bridger was an important rest stop for westward emigrants! Though small and simple, Jim Bridger had built strong relations with many of the neighboring tribes, which meant pioneering families and mail carriers had relative reprieve from the hostile midwestern tribes and a chance to trade and rest their horses and oxen! |

there is a monument that was take from the trail by Frank Fauth 771 betty st Ranchester Wy, He told us he back in to it with his car brake it lose then pick it up took it home you will fine it in his back yard this is not right
