Fresno County, California was established in 1856 and named after the many local ash trees! Fresno is Spanish for “Ash tree!” Its county seat is Fresno, and its fair is also held in Fresno! You might recognize Giant Sequoia National Monument, Kings Canyon National Park, the Forestiere Underground Gardens, the Blossom Trail, and the Fresno Water Tower, which are located in this county!
