Israel’s Jerusalem District was established in 1967 and named for the city of Jerusalem, which is also its capital! You might recognize the Knesset, the Western Wall, Al-Aqsa Mosque, Garden of Gethsemane, and Church of the Holy Sepulchre, which are located in this district!
