Travis County, Texas was established in 1840 and named for William Barret Travis, who commanded the Texan forces at the Battle of the Alamo! Its county seat, and state capital, is Austin, and its fair is also held in Austin! You might recognize the Texas state capitol, Congress Avenue Bridge, Deep Eddy Pool, Barton Springs, and the Moonlight Towers, which are located in this county!
