Tuscarawas County, Ohio was established on March 15, 1808 and named for the Lenape word for “old town” or “open mouth!” Its county seat is New Philadelphia, and its fair is held in Dover! You might recognize part of Ohio’s Amish Country, the World’s Largest Cuckoo Clock, and the site of the Gnadenhutten Massacre, which are located in this county!
