Butch Cassidy’s Childhood Home!

Butch Cassidy's Childhood Home
What is it? This is the home where Robert Leroy Parker, a.k.a. Butch Cassidy, grew up and started learning how to become one of the West’s most famous outlaws!
What makes it historical? The Parker family moved to this small cabin just south of Circleville, where, during his teenage years, he learned how to rustle cattle from a fellow named Mike Cassidy! He adopted his alternate first name from his stint as a butcher in Rock Springs, Wyoming, and his last name from his mentor so he wouldn’t disgrace his parents! That’s one considerate outlaw!

NOTE: Butch Cassidy was born in Beaver, Utah! That alone is worth mention!

How can I Help the Helpers? HERE’S HOW:

  • Be a responsible visitor! Please respect the signs and pathways, and treat all structures and artifacts with respect. They’ve endured a lot to survive into the present. They’ll need our help to make it into the future!
Where is this place? On the west side of Highway 89, about three miles south of Circleville, UT 84723!
